Transformers 2 opens June 26th

Romans 12:2 ( The Message)
 So here's what I want you to do, God helping you:
Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life
—and place it before God as an offering.
Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.
Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out.
Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.
Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity,
 God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

Horton Hears A Who - Reviews

Horton Hears A Who (watch trailer here)

is getting great reviews. Here is one from Christianity Today.

The review concludes with:

Horton Hears a Who! is sure to be a zany and delightful romp for children.

But it has the added benefit, thanks to Dr. Seuss' deceptive simplicity,

of being a conversation starter about deeper topics like the innate value in each

and every one of us, the need for persistence in doing the right thing no matter

 the odds, and, for the Christian parent, a metaphor for faith itself.

Where do you harvest your strength?
Good morning, friends!  I hope all is well with you today
and that your weekend was full and fun.
Today's quote is a reminder that is best given in best times.
 No one wants to hear about the benefits of their struggles during the struggling,
but persons who have heard and understood that message
during less difficult times seem to be able to manage the struggles better.
It makes me sad when I see persons who are wilting spiritually under difficulty
 because they have not prepared.
 But what a powerful testimony it is when a person maintains
 faith even when difficulty arrives.
No one should feel defeated, but all of us should aspire to grow to
 faith that bears difficulty.
Are you prepared for tough times?  Think about it, and have a great day.

-->
When you long for life without difficulties,
remember that oaks grow strong in contrary winds,
and diamonds are made under pressure.

Prayer
Good morning, friends!
Wow, what a storm last night;
 this morning looks promising for a storm, too.
Today's quote speaks both of the faith
of the believer and the love of God.
As believers we must have faith
 to practice regular prayer,
speaking to the unseen
and depending on the barely knowable.
Also, it says quite a lot about God
to believe that God would be
exposed in the most inner
parts to fallible, sinful humanity.
The very act of prayer says a lot,
but ultimately the practice of prayer says a lot about the prayer.
What does your practice of prayer say about you?
Think about it, and have a great weekend.

-->
Prayer is a time of exposure
 to the very soul of God.
